Dili, 20 March 2018 – Consumer Price Index for the month February 2017 was officially released at the DGS conference Room, Cai-Coli street by the Interim General Director of Statistics, Mr. Silvino Lopes. In an opening of the launched the interim Director General of Statistics said that the changes of its percent in the Consumer Price Index of all groups for monthly was increase (+0.3%) for the month of February 2018, turned back to compared with the month of January 2018 also increased (+0.8%).
The Majority of increasingly of CPI was contributes from foods and non–alcoholic beverages (+0.2%), Alcohol and Tobacco (+1.3%) and from transport (+1.2%). The increasing of prices in groups of Foods and non–alcoholic beverages get much more impact from sub-group of meat (+0.7%), coffee, tea and cocoa (+0.9%), foods products (+0.8%) and rice (+0.2%). Sub-group for sugar, marmalade, honey, chocolate and confectionary (-1.2%) it become as a contrary changes (offset) for group of foods and non–alcoholic beverages. Said by Mr. Lopes.
Mr. Lopes furthermore stating that the percentage changes Consumer Price Index annually increased (+2.0%) compared to month of February 2018 – February 2017, all gets contributes from groups of foods and non–alcoholic beverages (+1.4%), Education (+16.6%), Alcohol and Tobacco (+3.0%), Transport (+1.7%), Furnishings, household equipment and routine household maintenance (+1.8%), clothing and footwear (+1.1%), housing (+0.8%) and communication (+0.2%). Group of recreation and culture (-1.1%) becomes as a negative change in the calendar year of February 2018.
Finally he said by underlined that Inflation tradable (+0.2%) and non-tradable for monthly (+0.3%) increased in month of February 2018 – January 2018. In the same time he also by highlighted that inflation tradable (+2.0%) and non-tradable annually (+1.4%) increased when compared the month of February 2018 – February 2-17.
