Directorate General of Statistics Launching Seventh Regular Publication

Dili, 22 February 2017 – Directorate General of Statistics under Minister of Finance conducting launching of regular publication such as; CRVs 2015, Crime Statistics 2015, Trade Statistics 2015, Timor-Leste in Figures 2015, Business Activity Survey (BAS), Municipalities in Figures and also COICOP-CAE (ISIC) held in the Directorate General of Statistics office.

The ceremony of launching publications are officially opened by Vice Minister of Finance, H. E. Helder Lopes and Director General of Statistics,  Elias dos Santos Ferreira, in this occasion are attended by line ministers, international agencies, UN agencies, civil societies (NGOs) as well as all staff of DGS. In the opening remarks Director General Elias has stated that this launching is really important because with the data that staff of DGS collecting such as Crimes statistics , Trade statistics, municipalities statistics and so forth all through researches, which are linked to all line ministries. DG, Elias also highlights that if the line ministries needs information that related to the mentioned publication in above please refer to the publication that available now in our website and office, as we all know that with the data as a determinate factor to develop our nation.

The Vice Minister of Finance Mr. Lopes affirm that this launching, we have to be aware and well intend the contents of its publications; first to inform back to you all as a decision makers to utilize the information containing in mentioned publication as a political decision which becomes essential via this today launching. In this opportunity I want re-inform to you all to as responsible persons in utilizing the data for your program. In the second part Mr. Lopes also said that this event made available data for users.
