Dili, January 11, 2019 – The President Census Technical Committee of Agriculture Timor-Leste, Mr. Elias dos Santos Ferreira with his Vice President Mr. Claudino Ninas Nabais together with senior staffs Census of Agriculture Secretariat and also census pilot monitoring officers was setting together at the General Directorate of Statistics’ Office with an intention to evaluate again the census pilot that was taking place in December 3 – 22, 2018, in eight municipalities, such as Baucau, Viqueque, Aileu, Manufahi, Ermera, Bobonaro, Covalima and RAEOA. The Meeting was held in the GDS meeting Room Caicoli Dili.
The Vice President of census Agriculture, Mr. Claudino Ninas Nabais says that, the intention of this first meeting in 2019 is to evaluate a pilot census of agriculture that had been taking place last year, the pilot was conducting in order to test all instruments such as questionnaires logistics and so on, in which will be use in the main census of agriculture which base on planned that will be implementing on March 2019. Said Mr. Nabais.
Mr. Nabias further said that based on this evaluation we can be assure an instruments we are recommending to utilized, beside that we also talking about human resource is capabilities that be use to familiarizing those available instruments, well, before that those human resources also have been gained various training on how to collecting data, operating tablets/CAPI, operating Geographic Positioning System (GPS) and other logistical material during 16 days in the pilot-test. This meeting also we want to review again what are need to be improving so that in the actual census of agriculture there will not much thing happen in the field.
The President Technical Census of Agriculture Committee Mr. Elias dos Santos Ferreira together with his vice president Mr. Nabais by informing that the result pilot-test census of agriculture in last year for preliminary result is available but for comprehensive ones we really need a support from Food Agriculture Organization (FAO) as you may all aware that this report become as a reference for us.
In the same time also Census of Agriculture Secretariat Coordinator Mr. Quintiliano Belo by shared to the participants that the referring census is the first of biggest project that undertaking by the Ministry of Agriculture and Fisheries especially census, therefore Secretariat census of agriculture faced a lot of obstacles…my suggestion is we must move on to face new things in order to improving for the main census that will implement in March 2019.
