The National Director of Cartographic Statistics and mapping was Opening Mapping Survey for Aldeia boundaries line in RAEOA, OECSUSSE Recently.

Oecusse, September 03, 2018 – The National Director of Cartographic and Mapping from Statistics of Timor-Leste, Mr. Afonso Paixao Martins was accompanied by his interim General Director of Statistics Mrs. Paulina R. Viegas together with the interim Director of Statistics RAEOA Mrs. Florinda de Fatima S. Bobo as well as chief of Immigration in RAEOA recently opening a Refreshing training for Aldeia Mapping Boundary line in order to be used later on as an enumeration area for 2020 census.

The National Director of Cartographic and Mapping from Statistics of Timor-Leste, Mr. Afonso Paixao Martins said that the objective of conducting the refreshing training on Aldeia boundary map was with an intention that, Timor-Leste will undertake in 2020 his fourth population and housing census as a democratic and independent country. Indeed, in 2004, 2010 and 2015 respectively, the country already organized a census. Mr. Martins by saying that why we have to conduct this training on Aldeia map? As you all know that three period of census we were using area enumeration based on Suco boundary and from that we are realized that there was a bit double counts on its population, therefore in 2020 census we will use Aldeia map as enumeration area for allocating interviewers so that they will collect the information more effective and efficient.

Mr. Martins furthermore says that, referring to survey on aldeia mapping 7 municipalities have been concluded are Municipality of Aileu, Ainaro, Covalima, Manufahi, Bobonaro, Manatuto and Dili and now proceeding to RAEOA which is now still under progress and the aldeia that been finalized by mapping technicians in total 1.156 aldeias. So the remaining municipalities are Ermera, Liquica, Baucau, Lautem and Viqueque.

 

In the same occasion Interim General Director of Statistics Mrs. Paulina as well as the interim Director of Statistics RAEOA Mrs. Florinda de Fatima S. Bobo by saying that we hope to staff that are working in Statistics of RAEOA to be really serious in attending this refreshing training on Aldeia boundary map that will provided by an expert that from National Directorate Cartographic and Mapping Statistics. As you may know that this is a technical issue that really required more attention in order to absorbed them all, if during the training if you find something that you don’t well intended please don’t hesitate to point out the question or your doubt on the referring matter. In the other hand the chief of Imigration that participate during the opening on Aldeia mapping survey also stating that, yes this Survey on Aldeia Mapping is really technical so you all should well intend so that while you are in the field you already know what you want to do for drown the line or marking the boundary line of its own aldeia in RAEOA.
