Díli, 23 November 2021, The Director General of Statistics Timor-Leste, Mr. Elias dos Santos Ferreira today releases report of Consumer Price Index-CPI for October 20201 the event was held at the GDS REHA Conference Room, Caicoli, Dili.
During the meeting the presenter is by presenting, that All Groups percentage of Consumer Price Index-CPI change rose (+0.7%) for the month of October 2021, compared to September 2021 increased (+0.1%). Percentage change of all groups (+0.7%) and it was contributed from Food and Non-Alcoholic Beverage (+1.0%), Housing (+1.5%), Transports (+0.4%), Household Equipment and Routine Household Maintenance (+0.5%), Recreation and Culture increase (+1.4%) and Health (+0.7%). Alcohol and Tobacco (-1.3%) and Clothing and Footwear (-1.4%) become as opposing change for all groups of inflation. Food and Non-Alcoholic Beverage increased due to an impact from subgroups of Vegetables rose (+2.7%), Oils and Fats (+4.8%), Meat (+2.3%), Milk, Cheese and Eggs (+2.1%) and Sugar, Jam, Honey, Chocolate and confectionery (+0.7%). Rice (-0.9%), Bread and cereals (-1.6%) become as contrary change for an inflation of Food and Non-Alcoholic Beverage groups.
An annual percentage of Consumer Price Index-CPI change increased (+4.9%) compared month of October 2021 – October 2020, It was contributed by group of Food and Non-Alcoholic Beverage (+7.5%), Alcohol and Tobacco (+6.0%), Transports (+5.6%), Housing (+1.1%), Household Equipment and Routine Household Maintenance (+0.2%), Recreation and Culture increase (+0.9%) and Health (+0.7%). Clothing and Footwear (+0.3%) and Communication (-0.1%) become as opposing change for annual October 2021.
Tradeable Inflation increased (+0.6%) and non-Tradeable inflation rose (+1.0%) in an annual compared in month of October 2021 – September 2021.
Tradable Inflation increased (+5.7%) and non-Tradeable inflation rose (+3.3%) in an annual compared in month of October 2021 – October 2020.
The launched event was attended by representative of Central Bank of Timor-Leste-BCTL, AIFAESA, Relevant Line Ministers, Universities Students from UNDIL and UNPAZ, GDS Staffs and media.
