This section provides information on a variety of durable goods owned by the population. The scope of durable goods is restricted to those intended for household consumption, and not for business or production purposes. These consumer durables are expected to yield services and utility to the household over a number of years.
The durable goods covered by the survey mostly consist of household appliances such as stoves, refrigerators, sewing machines, fans, washing machines, radios, stereos, and television sets, but they also include bicycles, scooters, motorcycles, cars, and motorized and non-motorized boats.
