Dili, 28 September 2021, The General Directorate of Statistics under portfolio Minister of Finance is now providing a training to 13 municipalities staffs during two days in GDS office. The training teaches the staffs in how utilizing smart phones in collecting data in proper manners especially in Consumer Price Index. The opening training was held on GDS office, Caiaoli, Dili.
During the opening training the Director General of Statistics by informing that, the 38 smart phones that are now available at GDS was donated by the World Food Program-WFP in several months ago.
The General Directorate of Statistics wants to utilizing the smart phone in few months coming, because several months ago GDS seeking of an expert to develop an electronic questionnaire and loading into the devices and now are ready to be use for collecting CPI data.
In the same occasion Director General, Elias dos Santos Ferreira also thanks to 13 of GDS Coordinators that are based at each municipalities for bringing down their staff come to national to have a training on smart phone devices. As DG said that, it is better to trained our staff more deeply and intensely so that while collecting data about consumer price index in a better quality and also very rapid in processing the outcomes for users.
A person who is going to providing a training for the smart phone is National Director for System and Report Mr. Silvino Lopes. He also an expert in developing GDS questionnaire in an application like CSEntry. He also gradually transferring skills that he has to his fellowship in order to maintain sustainability.
The meeting was attending by GDS Directors, chiefs and senior staffs within GDS.
